Mission Victim Services provides crisis intervention response to the scene (24/7) as well as telephone and in-person follow up. We offer drop in and appointment access at the detachment and we accompany victims to court, parole hearings and other key appointments related to the file. Also, In accordance with the BC Victims of Crime Act Mission Victim Services helps victims and their families cope with the effects of crime/trauma by: providing emotional support, providing information on the status of the police investigation and/or the court case, referring to other agencies for further assistance, assisting with safety planning, explaining what happens in court and conducting orientation to the trial process, assisting with CVA application, assisting with Victim Impact Statements.

Offered free of charge to children in grades 1-3 who require extra support in the area of reading readiness. Little Buddies and Big Buddies meet once a week at the public library for literacy-related activities such as educational games and paired reading.

Respite Services provide screened and approved caregivers to support adults, youth and children with developmental disabilities who are currently living with their families. Respite provides 24 hour support to families (actual days per year determined by funder). Several options are provided for families including respite within the caregiver?s home and/or within the family?s home. We encourage the input of parents in selecting caregivers who will enhance the overall well-being of their family.

Mission Restorative Resolutions is a District of Mission service promoting responsibility, accountability and peacemaking by assisting individuals to resolve conflict and repair incidents of harm and crime. We provide trained facilitators that guide individuals through a restorative process towards a lasting resolution. We also provide training sessions to community organizations and agencies.
