Meals on Wheels Program

Meals on Wheels provide low-cost, hot, noon-time meals delivered by volunteers every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, (except on statutory holidays). On Fridays frozen meals are also available on order. All meals are prepared locally. Cost per meal is $6.00. Meals can be delivered to seniors, handicapped, chronically ill, convalescents, or working persons confined to their offices. Standing orders or temporary service is available.

Medical Transportation Program

Screened volunteers will provide Medical Transportation from Mission to as far east as Chilliwack and as far west as Vancouver. This service is available to seniors and low income families. Clients of the Ministry of Housing & Social Development and the Department of Veteran Affairs may have their costs covered if eligible and pre-approved. Authorization from their workers is required. Drivers will be compensated for the mileage and out-of-pocket expenses by clients. Forty-eight hours (48) notice is necessary.

Provides a range of supportive services for adults and seniors with a mental health disorder, both in individual work and in group settings. This includes a range of disorders, including early psychosis, depression, schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, dementia, etc. Office hours are Mondays - Fridays between 8:30 - 4:30. Self-referrals are accepted.

Mission Community Skills Centre Society delivers the Working Beyond Program which responds to the Government of British Columbia and the Government of Canada's commitment to support older workers 55 years or older affected by global and community economic adjustments. It supports unemployed older workers living in communities of the Fraser Valley. The primary objective is to prepare participants for new and immediate employment or self employment to ensure that they remain active and productive labour market participants. We are wheelchair accessible.
