Mission Victim Services is a part of the Provincial Victim Services Program. We are a victim assistance program dedicated to providing support to people affected by crime. We are located in the Mission RCMP detachment and administered by the Women's Resource Society of the Fraser Valley. If you are a victim, under the Victims of Crime Act, you have the right to be treated with courtesy and respect, given information about victim services, and given an explanation of how the criminal justice system works. A program for parents and babies 0-2 years old that provides support for families whose circumstances pose risks to healthy parent-infant bonding. Drawing on oral-based activities, facilitators share stories and songs and discuss strategies to encourage positive attachment.

Multicultural Services are for new Immigrants, naturalized citizens and refugees and building community partnerships for serving the client needs from birth through life. We provide assistance with forms, Childcare Subsidy, employment and education upgrading, information about local programs and events, interpretation services, orientation to Canadian culture, language classes in Spanish and French, E.S.L. Tutors (one-on-one), multi-cultural events. We also offer Nobody?s Perfect program, and Safe Harbor - Respect for All training. Our group activities include English Conversation, International Knitting Club in partnership with Mission Library.

Nobody?s Perfect provides an eight-week support and basic childhood education guidance program to young parents (under 25 years of age) of pre-schoolers. It offers positive networking and support, group learning, knowledge of early childhood parenting, and child development. Resource materials are provided. 50 minute programs especially designed for people with osteoporosis who are at an increased risk for fracture or who already have had one or more fractures. Each class has an educational and social component (class size is limited). Intended to give people with osteoporosis the opportunity to begin, or continue on with, an exercise program suitable for their needs and provide a place to meet other people with osteoporosis in a social activity. Level 1 Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11 ? 11:50 a.m. Level 2 Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:10 ? 11 a.m. $35/ members for 10 class pass; $45/ non-members.

We bring parents together who support children of all ages with special needs, to share experiences and information and provide moral support to one another. Meetings are held at the Mission Association for Community Living board room on the last Wednesday of the month (except December), from 7:30 to 9:00 pm.
